The Breakfast club was founded in 1984, by 17 year old James Hark. As a troubled teen, James had no

elders to look to for advice or help; all he had were friends his own age. He soon began to notice

that his friends were also suffering from similar or even more serious problems. Out of concern for

himself and for others, he formed a small club in which the members would recount their problems

and also try to help each other. The first meeting took place during a school breakfast; hence the

name -The Breakfast Club-. Gradually the club became more popular, until it included 276 members. Some

of those came with drug abuse or other social problems, while others saw it as a chance to help their

fellow teenagers. Over time, "The Breakfast Club" spread across high schools in the United States. James

was featured on PBS news, CNN, and FOX news, among other prominent news industries in the country.

The breakfast club soon acquired fame across europe, and africa;teenagers around the world finally

had someone to turn to.

john hughes, who was deeply inspired by this story, made the movie the breakfast club, which is still regared as one of the most brilliant films ever made.

James, now 40, currently lives with his family in los angeles, california..
